TOURISM SOLIDARITY

A Boubandjida, our ultimate goal is the preservation of wildlife.
For all we know after so many years in Africa, that this objective can be achieved in a sustainable manner without the support of all concerned parties, the Africans themselves, first and foremost, the residents along the park.

This support of the people, far from assured suffers from many ills that we need to deal with Thanos, including poverty and lack of education are high on. We are aware that the benefit of this background work do unfortunately feel very gradually. In the meantime, to preserve for future generations a chance to see themselves on their wildlife heritage, we must ensure the best possible backup.

Upon our arrival at Boubandjida we worked together to conduct enhanced surveillance in the Park, many actions towards local populations. All these actions aim to change people's perceptions of the National Park, too often seen only as a place forbidden to all orders.

We would like the park to be gradually perceived as an asset, a factor of economic and social well being, a pride for all in the region. In an attempt to achieve this, we chose three areas of focus:

Education:
Explain, educate and meet people
- Organization of public meetings to raise awareness
- Organization of visits for schoolchildren
- Provision of teaching aids

Réunion publique de sensibilisation

Public awareness meeting

Development:
- Support for schools: Appropriations equipment and school supplies
- Support for micro-development
- Social Actions

Fiers de notre faune!

Proud of our wildlife!

Capacity building and monitoring the fight against poaching:
- Formation of park rangers in the fight against poaching and ecological monitoring
- Provision of field equipment
- Creation of village vigilance cells

Anti-braco-et-ULM

All these initiatives are time and material, financial and human. To help us with these tasks we call to volunteerism and donations to relay and encourage our efforts. The opportunity for those who wish to combine business with pleasure by devoting some of their resources and energy to the success of this difficult but very rewarding, in the exceptional setting of this beautiful side of the world that is Boubandjida.

For the coming year we are looking for volunteers for the following activities:

- Enhancement of the paleontological site Managna.
- Organizing and conducting educational sessions in schools
- Updating and development of the database against poaching and ecological monitoring
- GIS Training and operation of the database
- Support for anti-poaching and ecological monitoring.

Our activities are funded by
- Equity
- Private Donors
- International (Protected Area Network of Central Africa, Van Thienhoven Foundation)
