The climate
Cameroon, which from the second to third parallel, grazes the equator and extends to the southern limits of the Sahel, has as many climates as provinces!
South tropical climate is very strong near the coast where heat and humidity are permanent.
In the center the seasons were more severe, and the climate is pleasant, especially in the reliefs of the western provinces and Adamawa.
North, the rainy season which lasts from May to October, is replaced by a dry season during which cooler temperatures from December to mid March then rise gradually to reach their peak at the end of April .
A Boubandjida, the freshest of the season night temperatures do not exceed 10 °. In late April the maxima frequently exceed 42 ° and are often the first rains.
In the dry season, the harmattan dry air mass loaded dust thrown in the Sahara, is always present and the landscapes of a halo haze more or less dense. Embarrassing everyday sometimes reduced visibility to a few tens of meters giving the landscape a surreal charm!
The best time according to your priorities:
1. If you prefer the vision of animals, at the height of the dry season from March to mid April are the easiest, the animals are concentrated around water points last but it is advisable not to fear the heat progressively exceeds 40 °.
2. If you prefer cooler temperatures, mid December, January, February until mid to late March. The days are warm but very bearable, and the nights are cool, especially early in the period where the temperature often drops below 10 ° C. This is the period of bush fires that illuminate the night and leave charred landscapes which emerge out of nowhere flowers and bright green leaves. The harmattan haze nimbus often surreal landscape of a halo.
3. If you prefer landscapes choose the end of the season. Heat declines after the first rains of April. It is hot and humid, nature is reborn in an exuberant explosion of life that disclaims all shades of green. The brightness of the air cleared of the harmattan air sailing is superb in the dry season for Great Pictures!
My favorite period: the end of the season for his lighting and vegetation that is reborn. The spring African version!
