Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

A busy Christmas period which has mobilized more than three weeks in the bush, without returning to the city. So it is with our customary delay we wish you a happy new year 2012, by offering a bit of serenity and tranquility of our lives in the heart of pristine nature!
In early season, fires very late this year have limited vision of elephants and giraffes, but the period has been very conducive to observation of carnivores. The lions have been observed by many customers and despite the turmoil in the camp, there have been few nights when the roar of the couple of regulars have not heard in the camp, sometimes very close!
We even observed in front of an attack on a camp antelope by a lion put to flight by a second roan. In the high straw it was difficult to see clearly, but the sequence was the emotion you go ...
Panthère à Boubandjida, contribution de la famille Reynaud
Some excellent observations of panthers too, including this one, Reynaud family contribution, and the extract of this mail by Vincent ...

"And we were spoiled by starting on Wednesday morning:
First, we heard the lions roar when we wake.
Departure from the camp at 5:50 ... after 10 minutes, 2 or 3 lions allow themselves to surprise us on the track but quickly return to the bush.
Another 10 minutes and a beautiful male, alone, is the proud in front of us, he walks quietly taking the time to piss on the trees of the runway edge, I keep the engine running (without moving) and he turns to us toiser, continues to advance and quietly on the left hand without looking back!
Another 10 minutes and two lionesses with two young we are walking on the track and then depart, one of the lionesses then stops to the left of the car, steps, and we fixed several minutes ... Superb!
On leaving, a hartebeest jumps across the track just ahead. And finally, a rogue elephant just before the big strike ... "

Here! Hopefully this presages a good year for Boubandjida and demonstrates the vitality of our wildlife!
This year will also see the advent of the support of major conservation projects that we called our wishes for all those years. Hopefully they will be true springboard for the future of the park and the region which is a great need.
